We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Kathy C. Harris has joined the Rockademix Nonprofit Board of Directors. Joining the Rockademix team is a natural extension of her personal philosophy. Mrs. Harris is laser-focused on dramatically improving how we educate children from kindergarten to career, and Rockademix provides a groundbreaking curriculum to schools that increases student academic achievement and engagement  through music. Mrs. Harris attended the University of South Carolina, where she received her BA in Political Science. From there, she went on to obtain her Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College in New York City and then on to the University of Miami School of Law where she earned a  Doctor of Jurisprudence.

 

Throughout her career, Mrs. Harris has specialized in the areas of government, health care, corporate, governance, human resources, securities and intellectual property law. She was the Hillsborough County Assistant County Administrator for Human Services, the General Counsel for the Johnnie B. Byrd Sr., Alzheimer’s Center & Research Institute, Inc., and the Director of Human Services in Broward County. She has worked in the Florida House of Representatives, the South Carolina House of Representatives, and the United States Senate.

 

Currently, Mrs. Harris serves as the Chief of Staff at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, as a member of the Florida Bar, and she is working on her Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology with a specialization in Industrial Organizational Psychology at Northcentral University.
